Jersey Sport has given a total of £280,000 to 45 sports groups for off-island travel.
The government-funded group said it was the largest amount it had ever awarded to travelling sports people, up from £189,000 in 2024.
This year Jersey Sport has offered 45 travel grants to people taking part in 35 different disciplines, up from 26 in 2024 following a broadening of its eligibility criteria.
Constable Andy Jehan, who has ministerial responsibility for sport, said the grant system removed “a significant barrier for our athletes”.
This year, for the first time, people taking part in inter-insular competitions, senior adults competing at national level and multiple chaperones were eligible for the travel grants.
Head of Jersey Sport David Kennedy said: “The new streamlined process and widened eligibility criteria have proven popular and ultimately allow us to better support sport within the island.”
