French president Emmanuel Macron said that “strong measures” are needed to force Moscow to accept fire in Ukraine, after a bloody attack by the Russian forces in the city of Sumy.
“Everyone knows: this war was started only by Russia,” Macron said in X, previously Twitter.
“And today, it is clear that Russia only chooses to continue it, with a shameless contempt for human life, international law and the diplomatic efforts of President (Donald) Trump,” he said.
“Strong measures are needed to impose a high fire in Russia,” Macron said, adding that the attack had caused “numerous civilian casualties, including children once again.”
A Russian missile strike in the center of Sumy killed at least 32 people and injured 99, according to Ukraine, adding that the children were among the victims.
kyiv said Moscow hit the city of Northeast, near the Russian border, with two ballistic missiles on Sunday morning.
