Lost in Frenchlation, the film club that detects French films with English subtitles in Paris, has seven films, more questions and answers with a director, two walks on foot and a comedy show in the store by May 2025.
The French film club makes regular projections of French films with English subtitles in Paris, with the aim of allowing French language beginners to appreciate the wealth and diversity of French cinema.
The films are usual a mixture of new releases and classics. This is what comes in May;
Bergers – Friday, May 2
This film, by Sophie Deraspe, tells the story of an aspiring writer, Mathyas, who decides to give up his work in advertising to become a shepherd in southern France.
When? The pre-bee will begin at 7 pm, and the detection will begin at 8 pm

Adieu Monsieur Haffmann – Thursday, May 8
This film, directed by Fred Cavayé, takes place in Paris in 1941. François Mercier, a jewelry assistant for Mr. Haffman, just wants to start a family with the woman who loves, Blanche. When he faces the German occupation, he makes an agreement with his employer who changes his life.

L’Amour C’est Sûrcoté – Sunday May 11
This French romantic comedy, directed by Mourad Winter, is a 27 -year -old mangeal, Anis, who “marks all the wrong boxes”, especially when it comes to women. Still fighting with the death of a close friend, Anis pushes out and meet new people. Everything changes when you meet Madeleine.

Le Grand Blond Avec Une Chaussure Noire – Tuesday, May 13
This 1972 spy comedy film, directed by Yves Robert, follows a distracted violinist, Francois Perrin, who involuntarily becomes the focus of the French Secret Service, who believes he is a secret agent. A wild goose persecution occurs. You may have heard of the Remake in English (the man with a red shoe, starring Tom Hanks).

LA HAINE – MONDAY, MAY 19
For its 30th anniversary, unique Lost in Frenchlation for a projection of the French cult classic, directed by Mathieu Ksovitz.
The film, which covers one night and one day, follows three children from a neglected Banlieue Outside or Paris. His friend, Abdel, was beaten by the police and is in intensive care in the hospital. The boys try to navigate in their place in the world.

Directed by Yohann Glooguen, this French film tells the story of Prosper, a super driver who is in a difficult situation after picking up a dying gangster who was shot. I insecure what to do next, Prosper gets rid of the body, but steals man’s crocodile skin boots. Every time Hey tries the boots, the spirit of the dead man, king, takes over. Together, they try to find their murderer.

This 1988 film directed by Luc Besson follows the stories of Jacques Mayol and Enzo Molinari, who know each other since childhood and have always been rivals. After 20 years, men meet in an Apnea championship in Sicily.
