A Second French Railway Union has joined the calls for the duration of the strike action in May in France, pointing to the popular weekends of ‘Pont’ when many people travel in France.
At the end of April and early May, there is a busy time to travel in France, thanks to Easter school holidays, as well as several holidays during the month of May – Thorsday, May 1 (May May); Thursday, May 8 (VE); Thursday, May 29 (Ascension).
Until now, two French unions have issued strike notices duration of this period, since negotiations with management continue.
CBT-CHEMINOTS announced Friday that they would join the Sud Rail union to ask for a possible strike action starting Monday, May 5.
Meanwhile, South-Rail, another union that represents the railway workers, had already issued their strike notice that covered on weekends during the period from April 17 to June 2.
The South-Rail Union repeats about 33 percent of train drivers, without which TGV and high-speed interité cannot run.
The South-Rail strike warning covers 7pm shares every Thursday at 8 am from Monday. The union also presented an additional strike notice that covers on Wednesday, May 7, a day that is expected to see a strong rail traffic as people escape for the festive day of Thorsday and the long weekend.
How severe could the interruption be?
As with all French rail attacks, the exact level of interruption is an uncle at this stage. A detailed attack schedule is generally released 48 hours before each day of strike.
Any interruption would affect French rail services, but not Eurostar routes. Public transport of the city would not be affected either.

Until now, it seems that the week that begins with Monday, May 5, that the length ‘Pont’ Pont ‘Pont’ weekend of May 8 (VE Day), has a higher hood of seeing industrial action, and both unions have presented strike warnings for prison.
Why do unions threaten the strike action?
The dispute is linked to salary negotiations, working conditions and unstable schedules. The unions are still in conversations with the bosses, leaving some hopes that the strikes can be canceled if an agreement is reached.
