After deadly bombing in Sumy, bitter peace negotiations struggle to advance

With AT Leash 34 dead, the deans wounded and the perspective of a high fire even out of reach, a Russian bombing in the city of Sumy on Sunday, April 13, stirred deep emotions in Ukraine. He arrived after more than three years of war and with the United States pressing for two months to try to stop the fight. Two Russian ballistic missiles hit the city in eastern Ukraine, located about 30 kilometers from the Russian border. They reached a street full of many civilians, some celebrating Ramos Sunday, according to local authorities.

Until Monday morning, the Russian authorities had not yet commented on this bombardment, the deadliest against civilians in months.

In recent weeks, United Nations (UN) observers have noticed a significant increase in attacks on the country’s urban centers. In March alone, the UN reported 164 civilians killed and 910 injured, a 50% increase compared to February and an increase of 71% compared to March 2024. On April 4, a new strike of Ukraine in the duel. In Kryvyi Rih, the home of President Volodyymyr Zensky, a bombing near a recreation courtyard killed 20 people, including nine children.
