French and relatives of colleagues who died from suicide have filed a legal complaint against two ministers about “mortal working conditions” in public hospitals, said his lawyer.

Public hospitals in France have had to reduce spending in recent decades, and doctors and nurses have complained for a long time of insufficient personnel and low wages.

Step from plaintiffs have now accused the Minister of Health Catherine Vautrin and the Minister of Higher Education, Elisabeth, born of allowing “totally illegal and mortal working conditions” for workers and staff in training in the creditors of public hospitals, according to the complaint observed by.

They are charged in the complaint that ministers have the general responsibility of harassment in the workplace and involuntary homicide for suicide deaths.

The two ministers were not available to comment when AFP contacted.

The complaint described a “coercion system for the organization illegally works in extra time”, “threats” and “forced labor outside any regulatory framework”, as well as “totalitarian” management practices.

Case files had “individual or systematically completely ignored” bone, with “without political awareness or disposition to change” public hospitals policies, he said.

He said that the conditions were performed in three hospitals in the northeast region of Alsacia, the department of Hérault in southern France and in Yvelines, west of Paris, which had “witnessed a wave of particularly worrying suicides.”

An occupational health nurse crowded in her office in a psychiatric hospital in Alsacia in 2023, after indicating in several letters her impossible workload and “the behavior of harassment of human resources management,” the complaint said.

Two women who studied to be nurses in the same hospital also committed suicide, he added.

Attorney Christelle Mazza argued that if the public health sector were a private company, her bosses would have to account.

“Any boss who implements such mass restructuring policies and repeated as those of public hospitals, with such consequences in working conditions, would have closed and the company closed,” he said.

The complaint, which also addresses Junior Minister of Health, Yannick Neuder, has been presented to the France Court of Justice that these are members of the Government.
