Cut in US funding will be 'disastrous': Hundreds of local NPR, PBS affiliates rely on federal grants

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to stop federal funds for PBS and NPR, accusing public broadcasters of political bias. The order directs the corporation for public transmission and other agencies to reduce direct and indirect funds. In a publication on social networks, the White House said that the points of sale use “millions of taxpayers to disseminate radical and alarm propaganda.” For a deeper analysis, Jennie Shin of France 24 welcomes Clayton Weimers, Executive Director of Reporters Without Borders (RSF EE.
