Floral waters and how to use them – Part 1
People have legs that use medicinal and cosmetic plants for thousands of years, so why can’t we? Floral waters are excellent skin care products. They are directly from nature and are very versatile. You can use them on your face, skin, hair and nails. Our skin care today has so many ingredients and chemicals, and do not misunderstand me, sometimes they are necessary. But if we can opt for at least one of our products to be natural, why should we?
So what is a floral water? Floral waters are a byproduct of the distillation of essential oils or plants or flowers or flower petals in distilled water. You can also find them under the name of Hydrolats. You can use them in your skin care routine to refresh the skin. I love using them before applying the moisturizer.
Today I will tell you about 3 or my favorite floral waters!
Rose water:
Possibly the most popular and ancient floral water is rose water.
Fur: Rosas water is a fantastic toner. You can use it for yourself or mix it with other floral waters, and will help soothe and refresh your skin. It is excellent for neutralizing pigmentation, sun spots, imperfections or imperfections. Nourish and relax your skin. It can reduce the signs of aging and is a source of vitamin C and E.
Hair: Sprayed on the scalp, can reduce irritation and it is a beautiful hair rinse.
Cornflower:
Cornflower is a small blue, native flower from Germany. In France, we call it Bleuet (because it is blue). Cornflower is rich in antioxidants, is anti -inflammatory and is excellent for skin prone to acne or sensitive. In general, they use corn flow in products for the eyes, such as eye patches, due to anti -inflammatory property.Fur: Cornflower is a great toner. It will calm your skin, reduce swelling and fatigue sign. It is great to treat imperfections and tired skin and eyes. You can also relieve solar burns pain! If it is sprayed in two rounds of cotton, you can make your own eyes for the eyes.
Hair: If you spray the hair, you can help with hair growth, breakage and dryness.
Orange blossom:
Orange Blossom is one of my favorite aromas, and it turns out that it is very nutritious for your skin (and it knows very well in cakes!) Orange water water is a source of vitamin C and antioxidants.
Fur: If used as a toner, orange flower will light, tighten and hydrate your skin. If it is sprayed on a cotton cotton, you can use it to eliminate impurities, reduce redness and calm a solar burn. It is also a great spray after the sun.
Hair: If it is sprayed on the hair, it can help balance and reduce the dandruff.
Now, it can be a bit difficult to find floral waters in the United States, especially to find waters with only the ingredient: the flower or the plant. Identally, we want organic and not too many other ingredients mixed there. It should also be able to cook with thesis waters, for example, in the Middle East and North Africa, it is quite common to bake with rose water and orange flower. You can’t do that if there are other mixed ingredients. Therefore, I would suggest looking for them in a grocery store, preferably an organic.
That said, here in Paris you can find them easier, but you need to know where to look for. My favorite places to buy my floral waters are in these French pharmacies mentioned in my blog ‘Your Guide to French Pharmacies’ and also in one of my favorite places in the city l’Erboristerie du Palais Royal.
L’Erboristerie du Palais Royal is one of the oldest Herbalist stores in France and is really incredible. If you want to experience it to the fullest on your next trip to Paris, it is one of the stops of my guided tour of Marie Antoinette Shopping and I would receive an exclusive gift only greedy for my customers! You can get more information about the tour here.
If you want me to buy it for floral waters, we can make that duration of a personal shopping session!
