Saxid Khan shared his opinion on the concept of fading of the “hero” in Bollywood, stating that today’s industry is full of main actors instead of true heroes. Speaking on the YouTube channel of Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Bharti TV, Sajid offered a insightful reflection on the definition of a hero that has changed the decades.
According to Sajid, the idea of the Bollywood hero par excellence, once embodied by stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna and Mithun Chakrabraborty, has decreased significantly. “Bahut Kam Bohut Hain Apne Paas. There are no heroes in today’s time. There are clues,” he said. “Those who used to be heroes are now only leaders. Today, anyone can make a film because the value of a hero has decreased.”
Khan emphasized that the true essence of a hero now exists mainly in the cinema of southern India. He pointed out that the importance of a hero has suffered in the south, which is obvious in the big input scenes and the largest representations than life seen in his films. Agree for him, the heroes in the films of southern India are heroes for a moral standard: they cannot take measures on the screen that would be considered incorrect for society. He pointed out that while the term “super draw” does not exist, the word “superhero” does so, highlighting the son of the heroes of stature that he once had in the cinema.
Reflecting on the changing dynamics of the film industry, Sajid observed that the actors of the previous generations did not depend on well -sculpted physicists to have an impact. He mentioned that stars like Vinod Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan had no particularly muscular bodies, but managed to transmit intensity through their expression. The accredited Salman Khan with popular archaeing the appearance of gyms in Bollywood, partly after the launch of Maine Pyaar Kiya, who marked the beginning of the six -pack trend. However, he hastened to clarify that physical aptitude alone does not make someone a hero, emphasizing that real intensity should be reflected in the eyes of an actor.
To support his views, Saxid referred to the physical transformation of Ranbir Kapoor for the animal film, saying that Kapoor’s performance would have been equally powerful without muscle gain, due to the emotional depth in his eyes. Hello, he also cited the role of Sunny deol in Gadar 2, pointing out that despite not having a toned body of gymnastics, the naturally strong presence of Deol felt convincing and shocking, describing it as a “body desi” that is still delivered in action scenes.
Sajid Khan is known for directing films like Heyy Babyy, Housefull and Housefull 2.
