For the second consecutive year, the Ars Association in Cathedrali offers a series of four organ concerts dedicated exclusively to Johann Sebastian Bach.

From noon to 1.45 pm on selected dates, young Belgian professional organists will pay tribute to the great German composer.

They are: Peter Ledaine, Laurent Fobelets, Wouter Dekoninck and Hélène Ricardeau.

The concerts will take place in June and July in the Cathedral Choir in Brussels, where the organ built in 1977 was installed by the Brussels organ constructor Patrick Collon. This instrument is particularly suitable for baroque music, especially that of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Even very little known today, this organ was inspired by the sound style of the instruments building Bach’s time by Gottfried Silbermann (1683-1753), which are found in Saxony and Thuringia.

An event spokesman said: “The” Bach At Meridiem “cycle sacrifices a unique opportunity to listen to works by Johann Sebastian Bach acted in an instrument that has his music honors.”
