On the final night of the 2025 Premier League Darts league phase in Sheffield, Nathan Aspinall delivered a decisive 6-2 victory over Michael van Gerwen, effectively ending the Dutchman’s aspirations of reaching Finals Night. This win secured Aspinall the last available spot in the play-offs, marking only the second time in 13 years that van Gerwen has missed out on the Premier League finals.
Aspinall’s triumph was part of a standout evening that also featured an exceptional performance from 18-year-old Luke Littler. Littler clinched his record-breaking sixth nightly win by defeating Luke Humphries 6-3 in the final. This victory elevated his total points to an unprecedented 45, surpassing his previous record and finishing 11 points ahead of second-placed Humphries.
