I have spoken with so many people who tested the thing of “herbal medicine” and quickly returned to pharmaceutical products because the herbal remedies “did not work.”
And I understand why that happened. We have conditioned the leg to assume that medicine works instantly: that they get rid of our headaches, heal our sinus infections or eliminate our yeast infections as soon as the pill, cream or aerosol reaches our skin or blood.
When an antibiotic does not work the first time, we have Buckht to get a second to knock out the infection. If a round does not work, we throw it more. What makes sense … Oh, wait, no, it doesn’t!
Herbal medicine is not a “fast solution” such as aspirin or pepto-bismol to which most or we are accustomed.
Herbal remedies create a life of health and well -being by healing their body and helping each system of their body to work in the way it was destined.
Alternative medicine is Individualized” Holistic care for A life of personal health and well -being.
The goal is to find herbal remedies to work You. The beauty of alternative medicine is the process of finding what works best for you Specifically.

Natural medications to grow and how to use them
If you are visiting the Grow Network for the first time, I urge you to click the blog in the “Medicine” section while it is here. The network of gardeners, hailstorms and writers here has already done an absolutely incredible job in alternative medicine. My list below comes from the wealth of knowledge that this network has already demonstrated.

Marjory published his list of the 15 main antibiotic alternatives in This blog post. I want to reiterate your list and talk about how you can cultivate some of those 15 super plants and use them in their own alternative medicine practice.
Garlic

And if you do not have a patio, you can grow garlic in containers in the garden of your patio. Be sure to give them a lot of space to stretch on the ground in a bowl that has about 18 inches deep and 12 inches wide. Click here for instructions on how to grow garlic into containers.
EQUINACEA
One of the most visited sections of the pharmacy is the cold and flu section. Senus “disgust”, salt from the pharmacy and the garden!
If you are like the women of my family, you know how unpleasant the winter sinus infection can be. The only time I had to take antibiotics is for sinus infections, but equinacea is an alternative -based alternative that can help sinus breasts without the harmful side effects of pharmaceutical antibiotics.
You can grow equinacea in a pot in the courtyard of your garden. Click here to get instructions on how to grow equinacea in a pot.
But where most people dry, recent studies have shown that fresh equinacea has much more power to treat colds than the three plants.
Equinaceous tea recipe
You can make simple foolish echinacea tea to drink duration of the cold and flu season simply adding 1/2 cup of fresh equinacea to 8 ounces of water. Take the water over low heat for a few minutes, then add the equinacea. Boil over low heat for 15 minutes. Strain and add 1-2 tablespoons or raw local honey. (Honey is of great help for a throat and cough pain).

Cayena pepper
Cayenne pepper has been demonstrated worth replacing free sale analgesics such as acetaminophen and ibuuprofen, pain for muscle and articular pain.
This is another area of the pharmacy that is exaggerated; Acetaminophen and ibuprofen have units of loyal consumers who take medications daily in an attempt to cure chronic pain. But they have side effects such as liver damage and ulcers, so we need a natural alternative such as the pepper of cayenne to replace the medications we take for pain relief.
Those without patio can grow fell in a patio garden or in a small pot inside. Click here to get instructions on how to grow Cayenne peppers. Then, simply dry the peppers in the oven in cookie sheets lined with parchment.
Cut the peppers in pieces to dry faster and place them in the oven at approximately 200 ° F for 1 to 3 hours until they dry. Then you can grind them in a dust to use them in this simple recipe for pain ointment:
Pain ointment recipe
1/2 c. Olive oil
2 T. Cayena powder
1/2 oz. beeswax
Infuse olive oil with cayenne dust using a double boiler technique. Strain through a cheese. Then it melt the bee wax and add the infused olive oil with cayenne. Pour the liquid mixture into bottles or cans. Let it cool.
You can rub this ointment directly in the painful area. Not only does it allow you to avoid the hazardous side effects of free sales pain, but it can also work faster than oral analgesics that reach the area or pain immediately without having to pass by.
Turmeric
Turmeric, a bright orange root, is excellent for adding to its garden for dietary and medicinal uses on its farm. (Click here to get instructions on how to grow turmeric in a pot.)
It has been shown that turmeric helps mobilize fat in the body and can help reduce bad cholesterol.
High cholesterol is something that many American adults fight, and many of us depend on cholesterol medications to keep ourselves out of the hospital due to problems related to cholesterol. You can grow turmeric in your patio or indoors and harvest for a large number of other health problems, thus, from inflammatory intestinal disease to gallstones.

One of my favorite ways to use turmeric is in a tea. Here is the prescription:

Boil 4 cups of water, add 1 ground turmeric cap and reduce the fire over low heat for 10 minutes.

Then, strain tea and add honey or lemon to taste. You can also add a black hint or pepper for greater absorption.
Ginger
Ginger is another plant that can grow quite easily inside if it does not have space for an outdoor garden. Click here to get instructions on how to grow ginger inside.
Ginger has proven to have antiviral effects, as well as antibacterial goods. Replace the pepto-bismol, imodium, nuzeno and other medications for stomach discomfort with ginger.
Ginger is one of my favorites to use when I suffer from stomach insects. This is another that I like to have tea.

Essential oils: Complete your kit
We have talked about The power of essential oils Before, but we cannot have a chapter on alternative medicine without talking about essential oils!
Essential oils are extra -concentrated plants extracts. They can be used to replace many free sales medications. And although many herbal remedies may take time to work, some essential oils can work almost instantly to reduce the symptoms of our diseases.
Two or my favorite natural remedies
In my own alternative medicine trip, I have had the greatest difficulty in replacing free sales medicine in the treatment of common cold. Here are two of the best recipes that I have found for natural alternatives to cough drops and cough syrup.
Honey and essential oils notch recipe
2 c. Raw and local honey
20 Drops Thieves Essential Oil Mix*
20 drops of lemon essential oil
5 drops of oregano essential oil
Hot the honey in a pot until the caramel thermometer read 300 ° F (the “hard crack” stage). Stir constantly. Remove from heat and continue stirring until it cools slightly and start thickening. Make sure that you are not yet boiling continuously before adding your essential oils. Stir the oils.
Then, in sweet or parchment paper molds, place the amounts of the cough size of the mixture of honey/oils. Let it cool completely to the cream temperature. Store at room temperature.
* The essential oil of the thieves contains cinnamon, nail, lemon, radiata eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils. I buy mine from Young Living, although theoretically you could do it yourself.
Syntheat recipe for simple cough
