New York (05-June) -man through the MasterCard Mastercard Mini 10-K of New York 2024 here in Central Park, Amanda Vestri Tok quickly of her position. He was running in the fourth place and the three women who were only a second ahead of her, Teferi de Ethiopia, and Sharon Loedi and Sheila Chepkirui or Kenia headed among the best road corridors in the world. It was time to prove itself.

“My goal was to be the best American in the race,” he told Race Results Weekly a year ago. “Then, there was a time at the time when it was to keep the part of the Americans or move on with the fastest women in the front.”

Vestri, now 25 years old, remained cool when the three Africans Angelly moved away. She gets used to the way of grinding and pushed the second half -anone. Somehow, he managed to achieve a negative division (15:40 for the first half and 15:37 for the second), and ended fourth in a better personal moment 31:17. She won $ 7500 in prizes, a greatly important payment day for a corridor that was part of a well -dismantled training group but had no sponsorship of the shoes company at that time.

“That is likely one of the first things that my coach (Pete Rea de Zap Endurance) mentioned me after the race,” said Vestri in a telephone interview yesterday when asked about that negative division. She continued: “Obviously, the goal is the same this year, just to go faster.”

Vestri-Along with another 10,000 women of the will of the will of the 53rd edition of The Mini Here on Saturday, the first race in the world for women, founded in 1972 by New York Road Runners. She is part of an incredible elite field that includes some of the best women from an American distance, such as Weini Kelati, Emily Sisson, Emily Infeld and Dakotah Popehn. The Abbott World Majors Hellen Obiri and Sharon Lokedi or Kenya champions, and Gotytom Beslase are also in the field (Teferi will not return to defend their title).

Vestri enters this year’s mini as an athlete completely different from a year ago. Working with his agent Josh Cox, he collected a sponsorship with Brooks Running (based, at least in part, in his mini performance), and has been accumulating months of quality training under coach Rea and his deputy Ryan Warrenburg.

“I feel that the consistency we had built during the last summer of 2023, after graduating, and then 2024 began to worsen,” Vestri explained. “Month after month, I felt that I was improving more and more, and the training seemed to improve every month, even every week.”

After its mini success, Vestri has achieved extraordinary growth as a athlete. She played fifth in the US Olympic team. UU. In proof of 10,000 m last summer only three weeks after the Mini, defeated only by Weini Kelati, Parker Valby, Karissa Schweizer and Jessica McClain. He obtained second place in the Usatf 6-K Road Running championship, and sixth in the Usatf 10-K Road Running championship. A year earlier, it seemed unlikely that it was a factor in those races, but his career in the Mini changed all that.

“Everyone simply culminated in the New York Mini,” Vestri said. “That is why this race is so special to me. I don’t know; he’s just a child or gave me a different confidence as a runner.” She added: “I am excited to return.”

Vestri wanted to try the distance of half a marathon last fall, and coach Rea was all included. He had planned to reach its maximum point for the Middle Marathon in Valencia at the end of October, but a small injury forced her to withdraw her schedule. Instead of making the long trip to Spain, Vestri went to Florida and ran in the half-sharing of Low-Glaking Orlando last December. She appeared only 1:08:12 in her debut, making her the fourth fastest American for 2024.

“My coach and I always wanted to climb in half the past fall,” said Vestri. “The plan was to do the Valencia Half-Marrathon We were just like, we want to run. And-Rout, And-Route, And-Rout, And-Rout, And-Rout, and Row, and Row, and Row, and Row, and Row, and Row, and row, row, row, and row, and row, and row, row, row, and row, and row, row, row, row, and row, and row, and row, row, and row, and row, and file

He ran even faster in the Half Marathon of Aramco last January, possibly the most competitive half marathon in the United States. It finished fourth at 1:07:35 after smoking up to 10-K at 31:40 and ten miles in 51:17. Observing, Vestri was satisfied with that performance because his expectations had increased.

“We begin to think better numbers in Houston because we know how stacking is Houston,” said Vestri. “Houston is another of those races I feel, and my coaches feel, it was a day of low performance. I classify myself in the effort and performance results after the race.” She continued: “Houston should have one leg for a day of 67 earrings, or less. That’s where my physical condition was at that time.”

Vestri would execute one more half in that training cycle, the Usatf Half-Marathon championship in Atlanta on March 2, part of the weekend of Publix Atlanta Marathon organized by the Atlanta Track Club. On a raw and windy day, he occupied third place in a mountain range at 1:08:17 behind Taylor Roe (1:07:22) and Emma Grace Hurley (1:07:35). She qualified for the USATF team for the (now canceled) World Athletics Race Championship 2025.

“Atlanta was just a routine festival,” Vestri lamented. “I felt very bad all the way. That was all my heart. There was no good feelings for me in that race, physically.”

Since then, Vestri has run three times, from the mile to 10,000m. He was happy with two of them, but the third was a great disappointment for her. In the ten in San Juan Capistrano, California, on March 29, ended 18 in 31: 56.56, nowhere near what I expected.

“That race was one of the ugliest races of my life,” Vestri growled. She continued: “When my coaches and I sat after that race, we all thought that what happened is that the three marathons, which were a new distance for me last year, in the span of three months in which I did it was too good, my term and I gave my Theusy with my termy to my thermy to my termia with my thermy to my term and my thermy, to my Thermy to my Thermy, to my Thermy to my Thermy to my Thermy to my Thermy to my Thermy to my Thermy.

Vestri’s most recent race, a better 5000m better amount at the Sound Track Festival in Los Angeles on May 24, was much better. He finished fifth in a better staff of 15: 01.22. That came immediately after a mile of highway 4: 47.8 in North Carolina, a race that he did. These two races stimulated a different part of their aerobic system, part of their search to be a more complete athlete.

“We are going to go down now,” said Vestri, who explained that he also needed to work at his speed. “He will not be comfortable; he will feel that he is running. But the end of the day that will only help his 5-K, which will help his 10-K, which will help his half marathon, what he is doing to help him.”

Reflecting on the last 12 months, Vestri has learned a lot about the professional career and about herself. He learned to trust the key people who are in their corner, better understand the end of sport businesses, and have learned not to worry too much about the approval of others. She is also trying not to be so hard with herself.

“” It’s me putting those expectations in Myelf, it’s nobody else. I feel that it is always like that. I think it is rooted in many runners. We are always, how, and I feel. Me and envy’s i envy imm-b runners. You. ”
