Before the Darts World Cup, Sky Sports Darts experts give their predictions about whether someone will prevent the duo of England Luke Humphries and Luke Littler win.
They also evaluate whether there are important obstacles in the path of the team of dreams’ and if there is the possibility that they can make history when reaching the first nine -day winds.
Emma Paton’s predictions
Will anyone stop Luke and Luke?
NO! What a pairing: the first two in the world (on paper and outside of it!). I can’t wait to see them form as a team and become this unstoppable duo, it seems that you cannot fail.
The only threat I can see is Wales, who has won this event twice before with Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton and it seems that Bone is suffering a great way at the right time.
Is there any problem you can find?
I see nothing that worries them at all to be honest. With Littler making your debut, I think you will love the World Cup stage and I think they will both want to make a show and break as many albums as they can.
The only question sign is how they will join as an association, but they get along, so I can’t see any problem.
Will they ensure a couple of first partners of nine ales?
Well, if someone can be them! I said they would do it because to break the records and I definitely believe that this will be something they will talk about in the period before the event.
We have seen others approach, such as (Simon) Whitlock and (Damon) Heta Falling D18 only a few years ago, so maybe it is written in the stars for the two Lukes!
Mark Webster’s predictions
Will anyone stop Luke and Luke? Is there any problem you can find?
“In terms of the two Lukes, they are prominent favorites.
“Look, they can stop. We don’t know how they will deal with couples, it is a different type of format.
“But they are rightly the favorites and I hope they win the event.”
Will they ensure the first nine -day pairs?
“It’s hard to do. The Australians were very close a couple of years ago, but they are definitely the team of couples to stop.
“I will be GOBSMACKED if they don’t win the event.”
Polly James predictions
Will anyone stop Luke and Luke?
What dream team, a team that sends chills through the spine, but I think there are a couple of contestants that could cause a problem for the two lukes. Take any of the couples who are proven champions, such as Gezzy and Jonny who love playing together and are a force to take into account at this time with both showing a brilliant shape individually.
As double World Cup champions, they not only passionate to the Welsh players who love to wear the shirt, but know the weaknesses and strengths of the other and have had a year to adapt together under the moments of pressure.
Both come from team funds and know how to get up and build when things get difficult.
Is there any problem you can find?
YEAH! Humphries loves to prepare and practice and Littler does not. We don’t know how that will affect them.
Will they ensure the first nine -day pairs?
I hope it would be magical! If any pair is capable, they are the two Lukes safely.
Laura Turner’s predictions
Will anyone stop Luke and Luke?
I think it’s hard to see someone beating the two best players in the world. Having the two best players does not always mean that you win absolutely everything, but there is a dynamic among them. They seem to be very good.
I only believe that the dynamics between the subject means that they will be a very diffusion team to overcome.
Is there any problem you can find?
If someone has any possibility of beating them, it will be some that can get ahead from the beginning before the format begins to spread. The longer the format is, the more difficult it will be to overcome.
Will they ensure the first nine -day pairs?
We have just had a record number of nine derivations in the Premier League this season with Humphries and Littler helping to reach that total. I think they will be a bit competitive between them, but in a friendly way. I think that will help them if they have a mini competition.
Stuart Pyke predictions
Will anyone stop Luke and Luke?
Just a feeling that the England team is going through the tournament. The two Lukes have won the last five television specialties.
I remember all those nonsense about Luke Littler withdrawing from the event due to the reaction he receives from some German fans. That is exactly what it was, without meaning! I was always going to play. The pride of pulling England’s shirt at the age of 18 will be immense.
Is there any problem you can find?
I suppose the challenge will come from Wales with Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price, in addition to Gary Anderson’s Scottish duo and Peter Wright … All are winners of the World Cup and will know their possibilities.
But if England doesn’t win, I’ll eat a currywurst in Frankfurt … and I can’t stand them!
