Logan Rees He broke the course record to claim his first 5K Scottish Championship Gold to the Kissed del Sol Silver knowledge.

It was a high drama night next to the beach in Edinburgh with Morag Millar Taking the title for the third time in his career in an equally close female career.

The sun and suction cup conditions made a familiar backdrop, and the times were collectively as fast as they are or are in this event (34 people are more than 15 minutes).

Faster than ever before, in fact, at the very acute end of the male race, since the three medalists broke the existing record of the 14:12 course (established by Jamie Crowe in 2023).

Logan increased during the final stretch to win at 14:04 with Jamie Mackinnon (Cambuslang Harriers) Only two seconds ago and Sean Chalmers (ABERDEEN AAC) Third at 14:08.

To add to the emotion, there were the pineapples now regular and coveted for medalists. Well done, career organizer Adrian StottSri Chinmoy and all our officials and volunteers.

“I have not run this event for seven years and the standard was really tall,” Logan said.

‘We are all pressing and have it so that with three men within the previous record of the course. I was second that last time, in 2018. So it was good to win gold.

‘I think I timed well and be, Jamie and I were all the children or the bar revolve in the last kilometer more or less. I only went ahead when we moved to the grass near the finishing porch.

Cambuslang Harriers took the gold of the male team with an excellent effort that accumulated only 12 points with Callum Tharme In fourth and Ryan Thomson In the sixth. Silver tokios of Central C and the bronzs went to Figf AC.

Millar was at 3:57 p.m. to finish first, alone, and before Nancy Scott (Edimburg ac) at 15:59 and Lyn McKenna (Shettleston Harriers) at 16:03.

Evergreen Morag headed the line struggle to add to its title wins here in 2014 and 2019.

“I won here before and put my 5K Road PB here, so it’s a good place for me,” he said, after winning at 15:57 minutes.

‘I think I was third reaching the final stages with Nancy and Lyn right ahead. But I managed to get a little more and finish fast.

‘I ran the Black Rock 5 last week and that was a good preparation. I am still chasing times for me in my age group, and it is something that I am looking for for next year because I am doing 40 years. ”

There was a U20 course record in the women’s career, a great career there for Millie McClelland-Brooks As Invertclryde Athlete AC ended at 16:06. Millie was a quarter in general.

U20 male champion was Angus Wright from Edimburg Uni at 14:30 (by 11Th Place in general). Golds of the Central AC Tok team in both U20 races.
