It’s a promising new chapter in global green energy diplomacy: France and the United Arab Emirates are not just talking the talk, they’re walking the walk—together.
Discussions were wide-ranging, covering everything from hydrogen production and clean aviation fuels to advanced nuclear technologies and decarbonization strategies. French heavyweights like HY24, Engie, EDF Renouvelables, Technip Energies, Dassault Systèmes, ORANO, CEA, Newcleo, and CSFN led the dialogue.
According to Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Energy, “France is a key partner in the UAE’s transition to clean energy… Our joint projects will help build better, more sustainable energy systems for the future.”
Green energy isn’t just for companies; it’s hitting schools too. Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and EDF, a big French clean-energy company, just signed a deal. They’re planning to train students in the UAE to handle upcoming sustainability issues. Expect research projects, internships, talks, and learning programs.
These new steps are based on better ties between the UAE and France. The UAE-France talks in Paris in May 2025. It showed progress in areas , like the economy, schools, arts, space, nuclear energy, and health. Energy and cutting carbon emissions were big deals, showing that both countries want a green future.
Previously, a landmark bilateral program targeting hard‑to‑abate industries—championed by UAE’s Masdar and French partners was announced on the eve of COP28. The initiative aims to accelerate clean hydrogen and sustainable fuel deployment across both countries.
Bringing It All TogetherWhat does this all mean? Beyond formal agreements and technical talks, it’s a story about shared vision one rooted in creativity, academic exchange, and the drive to decarbonize together. From world-class labs in Paris to classrooms in Abu Dhabi, this alliance is setting the stage for real-world impact.
France has loads of know-how in clean energy. The UAE? Big plans, cash, and serious climate goals. Put them together, and you’ve got a future running on low-carbon power, shared smarts, and good vibes.
