“No Pursue your dreams. “
It is an unconventional advice for a starting address, but these are unconventional times for the new university graduates, said the CEO of Conservation International M. Sanjayan to the graduates of the William & Mary school in Williamsburg, Va.
Sanjayan had been chosen to be the graduation speaker as part of the “Year of the Environment” of the University, the duration that William & Mary is renewing the commitments to protect and restore nature, including the launch of a new title of coastal and marine sciences.
“We need your creativity, we need your skills, we need your decency, we need your commitment to cure our planet,” said Sanjayan. “Income inequality rivals the time of the kings. Responsibility.
“My best advice is this: leave your dreams in your bed. Don’t pursue your dreams. Write your story.”
