The feet can be smelly or dirty, but in French they are simply stupid.

Why do I need to know? Bête comme ses pieds?

Because The French language is full of insults, but this is especially fun.

What does it mean?

Bête Comme Ses Pieds – I bet more or less pronounced eat Say Pee -Ay – it is a French insult that translates as “stupid as your feet.”

Basically it means ‘thick as a’ or ‘silly table as a publication’ in English.

More recently, the French press used almost unanimously Bête Comme Ses Pieds As its translation for the English expression ‘more silly than a sack of bricks’ (such as billionaire Elon Musk tweeted on the economist and presidential assistant Peter Navarro).

As for the origins of Bête Comme Ses PiedsThe phrase dates back to the nineteenth century.

At that time, “the foot was a consultant to be a part not so nuts of the body that only obeyed the brain.

It has no autonomy and is the body part the furthest from the head, ”said lexicologist Jean Pruvost a Tf1.

As such, the feet were seen as stupid and over time, the insult ‘silly as his feet’ grew in popularity.

Use it like that

IL EST Bête Comme Ses Pieds. Ne l’Ambaucherais Puert CE Postte. – It is as dumb as a post. I would like to hire him for that work.

SERIUSEMENT, ELLE A REFAIT LA MêME ERREUR? Elle Est Bête Comme Ses Pieds. – Seriously, did you do the same Fogke again? She is thick as a table.
