Is the Pacific and prosperous Salzburg losing its reputation as a port of tranquility for the superior bourgeoisie of Austria? The Wolfgang Porsche project to build a private tunnel has an unusual political stir in the birthplace of Mozart, also known for its highly exclusive classical music festival.

At 81, Wolfgang Porsche, who is still the president of the Porsche AG Supervision Board, wants to build a tunnel and an underground garage under the Kapuzinberg, one of the lovely green hills that exaggerate the city center. The objective is to facilitate access to Paschinger Schlössl, the great mansion he buys in 2020 for € 8.4 million.

Also known as the “Stefan Zweig Villa”, this residence was property until 1937 by the Forced Austrian Jewish writer in exile in Brazil by the Nazis, where he committed suicide in 1942. From the acquired Porsche, who is affirmed by Porsche – Wolfgang, who is one. Thoroughly renewing the house to be its residence, but it seems annoying for the narrowness of access routes.
