John Korir de Kenia assaulted the victory in the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21, while compatriot Sharon Loedi triumphed to the defending champion Hellen Obiri in the women’s race.
Korir, whose victory in the 2024 Chicago Marathon in a time of 2:02:44 made it the most fast marathoner in history, recorded 2 hours and 45 seconds for victory, exceeding a fall from the beginning.
The feat of the 28 -year -old emulated that his brother Wesley Korir, the politician now Kenyan won in Boston in 2012 in his first attempt in five appearances. “He aimed to win Boston and had promised my brother that he was going to win,” Korir said.

Lokedi timed 2:17:22 in the women’s race, surpassing Obiri for 19 seconds, with Yalemserf Yehualaw Ethiopian, completing the podium. She broke the previous record of the course of 2:19:59 established by Buznesh Deba de Ethiopia in 2014.

“It feels so good, so great. I can believe it, I am very excited,” said Lokeni, who won the New York 2022 marathon in the distance debut and was fourth at the Paris Olympic Games last year. “I’ve finished behind Hellen many times, but this time I told myself that it wasn’t going to happen again. I fought and I wanted it so bad. I loved every part of this race.”
