Paris Saint-Germain was retained to a 1-1 draw in Nantes in a rare ligue 1 game on Tuesday, April 22, a result that maintains its undefeated national record this season with the semi-infinity arsenal of the Champions League on the horizon. It seemed that the strike of the first half of vitinha could be sufficient for the PSG, which has already secured a fourth consecutive title of Ligue 1, to leave the Stade of the Beaujoire with the victory.

However, Nantes responded to match with six minutes stirring through his Brazilian midfielder Douglas Augusto, winning the hosts a beautiful point in his battle for survival. The PSG could still have won the game in The Death, but a header from the substitute for Gonçalo Ramos of a Cruz de Désiré Dé returned from the crossbar.

However, the raffle means that they have not yet lost a game against the opposition since May last year, and leaves only four Ligue 1 games far from becoming the first team to complete a French superior flight without losing. The closest team has come to do that is still Nantes, who was undefeated during his first 32 games before suffering his only loss on the way to become champions in 1994/95.

Historical run

The result also allowed Paris to extend his career without losing far from home in the Ligue 1 to 39 parties since February 2023: the 38 -games race out of Milan’s home we invest in series A between 1991 and 1993 was the record in the main leagues of Europe.

“Today is a special day for us, overcoming AC Milan’s record. I congratulate my players for that,” said PSG coach Luis Enrique. He saw Vitinha shoot in the first steering wheel just inside the penalty team for the first game shortly after the half -hour brand. Patrik Carlgren denied Joao Neves, since visitors threaten to increase their advantage before the interval, but the PSG did not create a large number of opportunities despite controlling possession through the time.

Nantes could have matched before, with the low shot of Jean-Charles Castelletto for the distant corner only bees for an excellent salvation of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Douglas Augusto then shot at the last leveling after a Matthis Abline lung race, taking local fans to the crowd or about 34,000 at his feet. Nantes is now four points in the descent zone with four games to play, and three of his remaining games will be at home.

“I am proud because I did not expect such performance from my players. We simply defended well, but we also played a good football and created Chans,” Nantes coach, Antoine Kombouaré said. “We never drop our heads. It is a very well deserved point,” added Kombouaré, who described the undefeated PSG record as “monstrous.”

Initially, this meeting would be played on the weekend of April 12 and 13 before being postponed to give the PSG a break between the two legs of its quarterfinals of the Champions League against Aston Villa. They play Arsenal in the first leg of their semifinal next Tuesday, but they must first entertain Nice in another game of Ligue 1 on Friday.

It is likely that coach Luis Enrique will turn to his team for that game, since he had left Achraf Hakimi completely here and used people like Bradley Barcola and DOÉ from the bank.
