Paris Saint-Germain remained on the way to complete the season of Ligue 1 without losing a game since the semifinalists of the Champions League beat LE Havre 2-1 on Saturday, April 19, while Marseille returned to the second at the table. Désiré Doué and Goncalo Ramos scored the goals for the PSG on both sides of part time in the Parc Des princes, since coach Luis Enrique changed almost all his initial alignment after the European clash with Aston Villa.

The PSG had already secured a fourth successive title of Ligue 1 before this game, and its tenth consecutive victory of the League leaves them at 77 points with five remaining games. Any side has completed an entire French superior flight campaign.

“We knew that this game was a possible banana skin for us after a match of the Champions League that absorbed all our energy and left us feeling tired,” said Luis Enrique. “All the ingredients were there to make this a difficult game against a team that needed points.”

Achraf Hakimi and Bradley Barcola were the only players who kept their place in the PSG alignment at the beginning, after Aston Villa’s 3-2 defeat, which saw them the last four of the champions.

Doé gave PSG the advantage in eight minutes, and Ramos put the 2-0 shortly after part time with his 15th goal this season. Issa Soumare withdrew one for Le Havre, but the result leaves the side of the Normandy still in the descent rash.

Battle for Europe

If the race for the title in France is over, the fight for European qualification behind the PSG is intense, with the next six teams separated by only seven points. Mason Greenwood scored twice when Marseille Hammered Doomed Bottom Club Montpellier 5-1 to resume the second place in Monaco, who attracted 0-0 with Strasbourg before.

Roberto de Zerbi’s Marseille was under pressure after a five -loss streak in his previous seven games had threatened to derail his offer for the qualification of the Champions League. But they had few problems in the home of a Montpellier team that has now lost 11 consecutive games and will surely be relegated.

Greenwood opened the score from the penalty point and its orthopedic device means that it now has 18 goals from Ligue 1 this season, an improved account only by Ousmane Dembele of PSG, on the 21st. A Wilfried ndollo wal ahead of Monaco. The main side of the main side with Strasbourg keeps them three points ahead of their opponents, which are fifth.

Monaco was looking for a seventh successive victory at home in Ligue 1, but the top scorer Mika Biereth had a goal not allowed out of the game in the detention time of the first half. They had most of the possibilities, although Strasbourg also had the ball in the latest network, only because of Emanuel Emanha’s effort to be discarded as well. Strasbourg of Liam Rosenior is now undefeated in 10 games and is still the hope of qualifying for the Champions League, a level at which it has not played the Alsace attire since the European Cup 1979/80.

“I have a group of players who believe they can do it, and I think they can also do it,” said Rosenior English. “No one said that this team could do this at the beginning of the season. Ten undivided games, and the players are disappointed not to win against Nice (a 2-2 draw last week) and now Monaco, which shows how far we have arrived or time.”

Lyon, fourth, go to Derby Saint-Etienne’s rivals on Sunday seeking to recover from his agonizing defeat in the Europa League against Manchester United on Thursday. Lille and Nice, who are now sixth and seventh respectively, also play on Sunday. The first three automatically qualify for the Champions League, and the fourth entered the preliminary rounds.
