George Russell has admitted concern about the “baked” problems with Mercedes’s car 2025 after a disappointing performance at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
The British published his result of the Salachicha Grand Prix of the season to the extent that he ended seventh in Icola, since he fell back from the third on the network.
While a bad strategy and misfortune at the time of a virtual security car played a role in the result, Russell was shot down by a general lack of rhythm in the warm Italian conditions.
Hello, he said Sky Sports F1: “Trends are quite clear. When it’s hot, we are slow. When it’s cold, we are fast. That was the same last year.
“We have been doing everything with the configuration to try to find solutions, but there is clearly something more fundamental in the car.”
Russell is fourth in the pilot classification, 47 points from the leader Oscar Piasstri, but has a lower differential rhythm for the McLaren team of Australia, and also in Red Bull, to score four podiums in the first six rounds of the season he preceded.
He continued: “It is not the first race for this season in which we have a slower leg than Ferrari, only slower or the same rhythm as Williams, but somehow we have managed to obtain results in these used used cars.
“But today we were very lucky to finish P7 with all honesty.”
‘We need to think fast’
Despite Russell’s teammate, Kimi Antonelli, retired from her first career in her native floor with an accelerator problem, the missing or help of Max Verstappen in Red Bull, and the general foul of Ferrari speed, Media Mercedes is second in the Porty Campsars, Albenssen, Albenssen, Albensen, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens, Albeit Rampens. Last season, Mercedes’s performance was better in colder conditions, with Russell and his former teammate Lewis Hamilton sharing two victories each, but also or struggling to match the main warmer events.
The silver arrows introduced the front suspension and the wing updates in Icola that there had been optimism significantly before the event, but finally did not seem to help.
Russell added: “I would say that we are running out of ideas to solve the tires, but as I said, it is a bit baked in the car.
“You look at Ferrari a few years ago, they used to be quick in the qualification and slow in the races. Now they have a son of a U turning, and they also understand why it is so.
“So, we need to find a better commitment, as special before the next race. We approach summer and it is not really messenger for us. We need to think fast.”
