Carlos Alcaraz proved to be too strong for Jannik Sinner, a favorite at home, in the Italy Open final, winning 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 in Rome.
A tight first set was a tiebreaker when Alcaraz then kicked a 3-0 advantage within it, closing it 7-5 for a crucial advantage.
However, the second set could not have demonstrated more unilateral, since a dominant Alcaraz stayed with a 5-0 advantage, with unplanty synner to avoid closing the game in the service.
After the success of the Jasmine Paolini trophy in the female final on Saturday, Italy sought to win its first sweep of the Singles Rome titles this weekend.
Instead, the last local man to raise the trophy remains Adriano Panatta in 1976.
