Bryson Dechambeau remained ‘baffled’ for his failure to make the most of the important content in the PGA championship, since Jon Rahm admitted that his collapse of the final round was a “hard pill to swallow.”
Deshambeau finished runner -up for the second consecutive year, with less than 70 leaving him five blows behind Scottie Scheffler and Second, Harris English and Davis Riley.
The two -way champion letter of the United States Open led the duration of the third round and returned to two blows from the advantage at the end of the last day, just to finish the week in six below, since Scheffler closed a third important victory.
“I felt that I had the game to win this week and the golf course suite me quite well,” DcChambeau admitted. “They lost some positions in the section and had a little bad luck in this great golf game. He is a child or what he is.
“I am sure you really listened to me a little bewildered. It was a good fight, a good battle, take a lot of that. Just burning a bigger fire in my belly.
Hey later added: “I am bewildered at this time. I felt that things simply did not go out in my way.
Dchambeae now has the first six finals of the first six in five of the last six specialties, including the dramatic victory of a single shot last year over Rory Mcilroy in the US Open, although it was disappointed not to add to its duration of the account.
“I definitely had the opportunity to overcome Rory [McIlroy at The Masters] And I definitely had the opportunity to give Scottie [Scheffler] A race this week, “Deschambeau added.” I was leading after 16 holes in the third round, but man, I just didn’t.
“I have to learn to be a bit more precise with the wind, not letting the wind affect the ball so much. It is a difficult task to do because it is very high and the ball that the child moves it in the air. I have to solve it.
“I have some tricks under the sleeve in which I am going to work and, hopefully, bring for the US Open, but I have to get some teams here soon.”
Rahm: Late collapse ‘hard pill to swallow’
Taylor Pendrith, Jhonattan Vegas and JT Poston finished the week in the fifth tied in five under, with Rahm, an additional shot in an eighth part despite the fact that the letters shared the leadership of an exciting Sunday.
Rahm did three birdies in a four -hole stretch from the eighth, but lost Birdie’s possibilities over 14 and 15, before leaving five blows on the last three holes to miss a third important victory.
“I was very close,” Rahm said. “God, a while ago since I had a lot of fun in a golf course, 15 holes. Only the first seven of the day I was balanced well and things happened.
“The last three holes, it is a pill difficult to swallow at this time. Many positive aspects of this week. A lot of fresh wound at this time. But there is a very good leg this week and many positive feelings to take during the rest of the year.”
RAHM had overcome the deficits of 54 holes to win its two previous titles, the 2021 United States Open and the Masters 2023, while the old number 1 of the world sought to become the first Spanish winner of the PGA championship and complete the third of the race.
“I think it’s the first time I’m in a position to win such a close specialization and host it,” Rahm added. “In the only times that I think I have a head in a specialty on a Sunday, I have bone to close it and this is a very different situation.
I always like to go back to something that Charles Barkley likes to remember basketball players all the time. As, play to golf to live. It’s amazing. Does it be ashamed a little about how I ended today? Yes. But I just need to overcome it, overcome myself.
“It is not the end of the world. It is not as if it were a doctor or a first respondent, where someone does have a bad day, really bad things happen. I will do it about it. I will continue.
“There is much more positive than negative in what to think this week. I am very happy that I have put me in a position and I hope to learn from this and give it another opportunity in the United States Open.”
