The 3 best fabrics to search for sustainable swimsuitsRecycled nylonRecycled polyesterLinenMy collection of sustainable swimsuitsEconomic One PieceSecond -hand bikiniRecycled neoprene suit20 of the best sustainable swimsuits brands in the United KingdomAdvertisement

Last month I bought this new bikini. It took me some time: although there are many sustainable swimsuits materials, there are not many affordable brands that are sold in the United Kingdom!

But with the summer holidays, and a recent hotel and a spa stay with a lot of swimming just after, I thought it was time to update my collection of swimsuits. And so my effort to find this simple and simple black bikini lid, which I intend to combine with my Davy J letter, previously talked (in the photo).

A note about sustainable fashion: It is only sustainable if you buy pieces that you will use again and again. These letters fit very well and are almost any top due to their simple black design, so they were the perfect piece to maintain (instead of completely replacing)

So, if you are looking to update your swimsuit, this is what you need to know about the materials and the best ethical options that exist.

The 3 best fabrics to search for sustainable swimsuits

Most swimsuits are made of fabrics that are not environmentally friendly. It may think that this is inevitable, but I am pleased to say that there are more ecological options. While my sustainable fabric guide is dedicated a bit to things, I thought it would be worth breaking the main materials found in swimsuits here, and noticing three great sustainable alternatives.

Here is a list of the best ecological textiles to search when making your next purchase of swimsuits:

Recycled nylon

Most modern swimsuits are made of nylon. Nylon is a good material for swimming and bikinis costumes, since it is strong and light, but does not contain the dyes well. For this reason, it is usual -Izcado with polyester To create stamped and colorful styles that are also chlorine resistant. You can also see lycra ORPÍN spandex Used for elasticity that embraces the body.

The sustainable fashion response to swimsuits has come in the form of recycled nylon. You can also see this called ‘Economl’, a brand for recycled Nylon. This regenerated material helps reduce the demand for new nylon and, by extension, oil drilling.

The recycled nylon is perfect: it still generates microfibers that pollute our bodies and the environment. However, it provides the same performance as Nylon, without the primary environmental impact.

Recycled polyester

Recycled polyester and recycled polyamide They are similar regenerated materials that are used in swimsuits. You can also see this called ‘Reprove’, a recycled polyester brand version fused with natural textiles. I describe the thesis a little lower than the nylon, since the polyester is not no, it is not, it is not no, it is not not resistance is not that the nylon has, but it has a better dye and, therefore, it is used in many colorful and stamped swimsuits.

The recycled polyester swimsuit is on the most affordable side, so it can see that the savings are transmitted when buying thesis. Personally, I would recommend recycled Nylon on polyester or recycled polyamide, but both have a good quality and less impact on the environment.

Linen

If you are looking for a swimsuit that not us, not us synthetic, regenerated or other textiles, look for the range of Natasha Tonić or hemp bath suits. The thesis swimsuit and bikinis are not only manufactured with natural and biodegradable fibers, but also beautifully designed. As these swimsuits are made of absorbent materials, they will feel different if you plan to use them at sea, but it is a great alternative to sunbathe and the style of the beach side.

My collection of sustainable swimsuits

Economic One Piece

This year I received a child piece from Elle One Piece de Revivre Swim to try. This swimsuit is made of economic (recycled nylon), which is my favorite material for sustainable swimsuits.

Until now, I have used it in two spas and on vacation in southern France, and has quickly become my swimming costume.

The only piece feels very well done, with the reversible side acting as a luxurious lining when it is not on display. I prefer to use the swimsuit with the marine side groove on display, but it is also great to reverse it and mix things with pink tone when it is on vacation. It even comes with two matching belts, which makes it four outfits into one!

Alternate between this swimsuit and my Berlook black crew neck suit, which is a little weaker, but it is good for the price.

Second -hand bikini

Next, my second -hand bikini not so glamorous. This is a mixture of two brands; The funds are from Davy J, while the upper part is second hand of Vinned. I like to go swimming in my local pool and I needed a bikini that does not move while swimming, so this is more way on the function.

(Note: Personally, I do not oppose second -hand swimsuits, provided it is in good condition, but I understand if this is not for you!)

Recycled neoprene suit

Finally, I had to highlight my Neoprene suit of Vivida Lifestyle! Neoprene suits represent an even greater enigma when it comes to making them sustainable, and the lived response has been to use an innovative textile of recycled tires. The neoprene suit works exactly the same as standard and also comes with a beautiful reversible impression.
