We can learn and change in response to our environment, but humans have the bad habit of making bad decisions. Author Jared Diamond suggests that people are unique among all animals on Earth: “Perhaps our greatest distinction as a species is our capacity, unique among animals, to make counterrevolutive decisions.” Maybe it is a good time to withdraw that doubtful difference?
